<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in">“<a href="https://www.sundance.org/projects/the-infiltrators">The Infiltrators”</a> combines documentary and scripted filmmaking to tell a true story of activists—the
<a href="https://theniya.org/">National Immigrant Youth Alliance</a>, a group of Dreamers known for stopping deportations—who fight the abuses of the for-profit immigrant detention system.

<a href="https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/sociology/work-groups/power,-history-and-society/overview.php">
Power, History, and Society workshop</a> in the University of Texas Sociology Department. A discussion with key organizers of the infiltration will follow the screening, facilitated by Claudia Muñoz, Grassroots Leadership; Alicia Torres, Ice Fuera de Austin;

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in">The Austin Independent School District has recently joined a growing number of school districts across the state and nation that have closed schools, raising issues of equity and access, and questions about the
impact on black and brown communities. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in">The University of Texas <a href="https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/iupra/">
Institute for Urban Policy Research and Analysis</a> (IUPRA) and the <a href="https://law.utexas.edu/opportunity-forum/">
UT Opportunity Forum</a> will host a panel discussion exploring the causes and implications of public school closures in Texas. Panelists include Alejandro Delgado, Director of Policy and Planning, Texas Education Agency; Terrance Green, Associate Professor
in the UT College of Education; Stephanie Hawley, Chief Equity Officer, AISD; Ricardo Lowe, Research Associate, IUPRA; Kazique Prince, Senior Policy Advisor to the Mayor’s Office, City of Austin; Robert Thomas, former Commissioner representing the Public,
Texas Workforce Commission; and moderator. Kevin Cokley, Professor in the UT College of Education and Director of IUPRA.<o:p></o:p></p>

<a href="http://rajpatel.org/">Raj Patel</a>, author of the acclaimed 2008 book <i>
<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Stuffed-Starved-Hidden-Revised-Updated/dp/1612191274">Stuffed and Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System</a></i>, will address these questions in a talk on “Food, Climate, Equality, and Our Future.”
